Projects are primarily used where organisations want to test innovative approaches or pursue concrete results. Projects are considered a "thorn in the side of bureaucracy", meaning that they are intended to stimulate change in established routines and regulatory systems within organisations. Today, projects are often under intense pressure to deliver results: project goals and expectations are very demanding, while resources are scarce and time is limited. A convincing project strategy – developed jointly by the most important stakeholders – provides orientation, but must also be regularly adapted to dynamic contexts.
